OOOOOhhhhhhbedience...

Does that word make you sigh too? We often think of discipline and correction from our parents when confronted with the word "obedience." You know, "children, obey your parents..."

In Hebrews we see that Jesus learned obedience...through suffering! OK, 1st of all, HE LEARNED? Yes...and how? Through suffering. Why do we expect anything else? Why is it the we feel the world owes us some "get-out-of-obeying-free-card?" We stammer and stutter and come up with excuses and pleas as to why we are right, in a dodge of the responsibility we have to be obedience.

The truth is...obedience is not always though fun stuff. I never have to enforce obedience when taking my kids for ice-cream, or anything else they love. However, they grow very little spiritually and in character through that. It is the "not-so favored, but gotta get done anyways" stuff that grows us most.

What is God calling you too? Know it clearly...seek conformation for it... and once you KNOW...obey...

in grace, tim
